Built in the early 18th century by the Cantonese community, Thiên Hậu Temple is dedicated to Mazu, the goddess of the sea. The temple is constantly smoky with incense coils and alive with worshippers. The elaborate ceramic friezes on the rooftop depicting scenes from Chinese legends are remarkable. Located in Cholon, Saigon's Chinatown.
