Places when travelling in Saigon can not be ignored!


1. Independence Palace (Thong Nhat Hall)

Located at 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Independence Palace is an architectural work that is the witness of Vietnamese history . In the time of Vietnam- America war, this is the working place of the Government of Vietnam Republic. After the liberation, this place is listed as a special national monument.
This work is designed in accordance with Feng Shui and Oriental architecture but very modern. Here, visitors will be able to admire the artifacts from the old regime and more evidence of independent moments on April 30, 1975.
At present, on the occasion of 30/4 or 2/9 every year, thousands of people come here to visit as well as to remember the heroes fell for the national independence.

Opening hours: 7:30 am – 11:00 am, from 13h00 to 16h00 weekdays
Ticket price: 30,000VND / person / visit for adults, 15.000VND / person / student, 3.000VND / person / visit, the delegation from 20 people will be reduced by 1/3 fare.

2. Notre Dame Cathedral

Located on the main street of the city center, Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the symbols of Saigon City. This cathedral is characterized by European architecture combined with beautiful Roman and Gothic styles and the largest bell in Vietnam. Notre Dame Cathedral is an important church of the Diocese of Saigon and is the pride of the people of the city.

Opening hours: Visiting: Morning 8h30 – 10h00, 14h30 – 15h30 (Mon – Fri)
Time of the Mass: 5:30 am, 5 pm (T2 – T7), 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm (for foreigners), 16h00, 17h00, 18h30.

3. Ben Thanh Market

Ben Thanh Market is located in the central of the city, facing the main streets such as Phan Chu Trinh, Phan Boi Chau and Le Thanh Ton, the other is Quach Thi Trang.
Inside the market, it sells all kinds of traditional and modern items that can be used as gifts for family and friends. Ben Thanh Market is also one of the ideal places to enjoy traditional Vietnamese cuisine. When visiting this place, you should stop by the pavilions with local specialties such as fried fish or sip a glass of iced tea. One note is that when shopping here, you should bargain to get the good price.
